St. Louis Gateway Arch

The Gateway Arch, also known as the Gateway to the West, is an integral part of the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial and the iconic image of St. Louis, Missouri. It was designed by Finnish-American architect Eero Saarinen and structural engineer Hannskarl Bandel in 1947. It stands 630 feet tall, and is 630 feet wide at its base, making it the tallest monument in the United States. The top of the Gateway Arch is just one of the amazing sights to see while at the Gateway Arch Riverfront. Other activities, from browsing the Museum of Westward Expansion, to viewing the latest exhibits at the Historic Old Courthouse, to watching a giant-screen movie in our state-of-the-art theater, to taking a sightseeing cruise are all just a few steps away.

St. Louis Cardinals

The St. Louis Cardinals are a professional baseball team based in St. Louis, Missouri. They are members of the Central Division in the National League of Major League Baseball. The Cardinals have won a National League record 10 World Series championships, second only to the New York Yankees in Major League Baseball. On April 10, 2006, the Cardinals opened their new 46,000 seat retro-style downtown ballpark. The Cardinals also became the first team in almost 100 years to win a World Series Championship in the inaugural season of a new ballpark.

Old Courthouse

The Old Courthouse (officially called the Old St. Louis County Courthouse) was a combination federal and state courthouse in St. Louis, Missouri that was Missouri's tallest habitable building from 1864 to 1894 and now is part of the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial.  The majestic Old Courthouse has remained over the past 150 years as one of St. Louis' most prominent architectural landmarks.The Old Courthouse was the site of the first two trials of the pivotal Dred Scott case in 1847 and 1850. It was also where Virginia Minor's case for a woman's right to vote came to trial in the 1870s. You may tour this historic structure, and visit the restored courtrooms to learn more about our 19th century judicial system.

Forest Park

Forest Park, located on the western edge of the central corridor of the City of St. Louis, is one of the largest urban parks in the world, exceeding Central Park in New York City by 500 acres. A great place to visit and spend the day. Saint Louis Science Center

It is among the largest of its type and, like all science centers, is intended to be a place of informal science education for all ages. The Science Center campus is made up of four buildings. McDonnell Planetarium, found in Forest Park, a newer building across Interstate 64, the Exploradome, an air-supported building next to the main building, and the Taylor Community Science Resource Center. Saint Louis Art Museum

The Saint Louis Art Museum is one of the principal U.S. art museums, visited by up to a half million people every year. Admission is free. Located in Forest Park in St. Louis Missouri, the museum's three-story building was built as the Palace of the Fine Arts for the 1904 World's Fair, also known as the Louisiana Purchase Exposition. In addition to the featured exhibitions, the Museum offers rotating exhibitions and installations. These include the Currents series that showcases contemporary artists, as well as regular exhibitions of textiles, new media art, and works on paper

Saint Louis Zoological Park

The Saint Louis Zoological Park is a zoo in Forest Park in St. Louis, Missouri. It is recognized as a leading zoo in animal management, research, conservation, and education. Admission is free, although there are fees for some attractions. One special feature is the Zooline Railroad, a small passenger train that encircles the zoo, stopping at the more popular attractions. Missouri Botanical Garden

Founded in 1859, the Missouri Botanical Garden is the nation's oldest botanical garden in continuous operation and a National Historic Landmark. The Garden is a center for botanical research and science education, as well as an oasis in the city of St. Louis. Hours; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (closed December 25), Morning walking hours: Wednesdays and Saturdays, 7 to 9 a.m. (grounds only)
