Review: “Get your motor
run’n. Head out on the highway. Look’n for adventure…”
Sound familiar? Well, this tale of four middle-aged men who decide
to take a motorcycle road trip to the Pacific coast is not exactly
Easy Rider, but it’s packed with enough sight gags and silly
antics to keep most of us laughing for its rather brief hour and thirty-nine
minute running time.
Much of the success of this bit of fluff goes to the excellent cast
and the chemistry they exuded among themselves. John Travolta, Tim
Allen, Martin Lawrence and William H. Macy all appear to be having
a wonderful time making the movie and the out-takes further re-enforce
the idea that the movie is a fun-for-all, upbeat experience!
Most of the audience laughed at the action, but many did not admit
to it upon exiting the theater. This phenomenon is not unusual. There
seems to be a certain amount of guilt connected with enjoying a silly,
entertaining movie for the purpose of pure escape. Guilty pleasure,
you bet!
