Review: This clone of last year’s
“Madagascar” misses its mark and comes up a few furry
faces short of being a big hit. Young children will enjoy the characters
and their antics, but the adults in tow will be glancing at their
watches very early in the movie.
The computer generated menagerie consists of a lion, a giraffe,
a koala, an edgy squirrel and an anaconda who must work together
to help return a teenage lion from “The Wild,” back
to the safety of the zoo and to his loving dad, Samson. Director
Steve ‘Spaz’ Williams makes good use of some interesting
voice-over talent (Kiefer Sutherland, James Belushi and Eddie Izzard),
but the story is just not very compelling. One lesson that I did
carry
by Mary Morgan is a member of the St. Louis Gateway Film Critics Association. |
