Just as Ambassador Han is about to reveal the inside scoop on the most notorious Chinese crime syndicate, the Triads, an assassin’s bullet cuts him short. Enter LAPD detective Carter (Chris Turner) and Chinese Inspector Lee ( Jackie Chan) to save the day, just as they have done in the two previous Rush Hour chapters.
It’s off to the City of Lights, Paris, for the two detectives where they must put a halt to the global conspiracy with the aid of a somewhat unwilling cab driver. To add a little depth to the tale, the late Ambassador Han’s daughter, Soo Yung (Hiroyuki Sanada) must be protected from the ruthless Chinese mob.
Let’s take a moment an analyze what we’ve got here, an international crime syndicate, a damsel in distress and two cops who are a bit out-of-their-element. Never the less, the explosive chase scenes and the fights are well worth the admission fee. And, after all, who other than Jackie Chan/Chris Tucker fans would venture out to see another Rush Hour anyway? Those with a keen eye can have fun watching for Roman Polanski in a cameo role as a French cop.
