Review: Linda Hanson (Sandra Bullock)
is living a storybook life as the loving and beloved wife of Jim Hanson,
and the mother of two beautiful daughters. Busy at home, Linda is
interrupted by a knock on her front door revealing a police officer
who delivers the news that her husband has been killed in a traffic
accident. Devastated, she accepts the news and begins preparing to
break the news to her children. The next morning, she awakes and husband,
Jim (Julian McMahon), is sleeping right beside her. Was it just a
vivid dream, or a precursor of things to come?
In an attempt to make sense out of a death that is, then isn’t,
Linda uncovers some unusual revelations about her seemingly idyllic
life. Coming to grips with her discoveries, she goes about trying
to change Fate. Can she triumph against the forces that control the
future? By the time that question is answered, you will be so confused
that you may no longer care. A short running time by today’s
standards, this film leaves many loose ends for the viewers to muddle
through. A confusing premise, although paired with good acting, makes
this only a so-so watch.
