Review: A ‘trequel”
of a re-make, one would think the old gang might be getting a little
weary of their heist hi-jinks, but such is not the case. Danny Ocean
(George Clooney) and his merry men still find pleasure in thwarting
the likes of rats like Mr. Bank (Al Pacino) and helping them distribute
their ill-gotten gains.
Filmed in glitzy Las Vegas, I found this latest installment to be
thoroughly enjoyable. Seeing the regulars (Matt Damon, Brad Pitt,
Elliott Gould), plus a few new faces in the "gang" (Ellen
Barkin, Eddie Izzard) made it familiar, yet fresh. Although the caper
had the expected twists and turns, they were not so intricate as to
make me work to keep up with the action. For me, it was a fun watch,
short on violence, but big on entertainment. Odds are it’ll
be a box office hit.
