Review: When her estranged sister
is overcome by an evil spirit, Aubrey (Amber Tamblyn) journeys to
Tokyo to offer her help. Too late to save sister, Karen (Sarah Michelle
Geller), but thoroughly engrossed in the mystery, Aubrey continues
to seek out the source of the curse that killed her sister. And she’s
not the only one. Others who have fallen under its spell are eager
to expose the sinister force and break the spell. Their lives depend
on it.
We're still not sure just what “The Grudge” is, but
after this sequel of a remake, few will care. Director Takashi Shimizu
misses the mark by a long shot and comes up with an almost laughable
lack-of-horror flick that may cause some gullible pre-teens to squeal,
but even that’s a stretch.
