Review: The mystery of Life shall
remain just that. In no way will this confusing tale of parallel existences
solve any riddles of the universe. Conquistador Tomas Creo, scientist
Tommy Creo and Tom the 26th century astronaut (Hugh Jackman), all
one in the same, and all seeking the Tree of Life but in different
time periods, will confuse you, but will compensate by offering some
interesting visuals. Warning, any story that attempts to span thousands
of years in an hour and a half has its work cut out for it.
You might ask, “What would make a man travel through the
perils time and space?”
The answer is simple, to save the life of the woman he loves,
Izzie (Rachael Weisz). A love story from the first frame, writer/director
Darren Aronofsky leads us on an almost sacred chase to solve the
mystery of life before Izzie’s time runs out and she succumbs
to a 21st century disease. Always racing against time, the multi
faceted protagonist must stop at nothing to bend time in her favor.
