Review: Scenes of raw power in
a ruthless industry might bring arms dealers to mind, but think again.
“Fashion” is the name of this deadly game and Miranda
Priestly (Merle Streep) is the commander and chief. “Runway
Magazine” is the vehicle of delivery and a frightening icon
to those vying for control of next season’s styles and colors.
David Frankel directs this unabashed “chick flick.”
If you're not thoroughly convinced of the target audience, just
consider this. Most men don't even know who, or what Prada is, let
alone care. But, if you are intrigued by the cut-throat biz of high
fashion, you'll enjoy this peek at the industry. Anne Hathaway is
great as the Devil’s young gopher, who manages to keep all
of the threads from unraveling.
