Review: Everyone has heard of
haunted houses, filled with ghosts, goblins and ghouls, but such is
not the case in this instance. Here the house itself is the evil entity,
the monster. And only three kids understand just what that means.
All of the adults are impervious to the knowledge, including clueless
parents and bumbling police. There is one adult, however, who knows
the secret of the House, Mr. Nebbercracker (Steve Buscemi), its creepy
owner. Things go from bad to worse as the mystery is unearthed.
The film is made entirely of computer generated animation. Unfortunately,
the images are not of an endearing nature and the young audience
was divided between somewhat unimpressed and frightened. Ho hum.
