Review: Spy-extraordinaire Ethan
Hunt (Tom Cruise) makes the “impossible” happen as he
faces off against the ruthless weapons trader, Owen Davian (Phillip
Seymour Hoffman). The object of everyone’s attention is the
“rabbit’s foot,” the ultimate weapon. Along with
some new faces, Luther Strickell (Ving Rhames) returns to aid his
former colleague. Better than the first two episodes, this installment
will blow you up; I mean “away.”
Directed by J.J. Abrams (“Lost”), this latest adventure
is packed with pure adrenalin. Like a breath of fresh energy, this
first of the summer blockbusters is a perfect escape into a world
where special effects are everyday occurrences and international
terrorists are just on the verge of world destruction. An action/
adventure thriller that delivers what it promises, it is a mission
made to be enjoyed on the big screen with a tub of buttered popcorn
on your lap.
