Review: You'll think you have
this one pegged in the first ten minutes, but you will be so wrong!
An internet chat session results in a liaison between a young teenage
girl, Hayley (Ellen Page), and a 30-something male predator, Jeff
(Patrick Wilson), takes off like a rocket but ends up like “Misery.”
You'll be glued to the screen for the duration of this disturbing,
but riveting film.
Ellen Page and Patrick Wilson deliver intensely convincing performances
as Hayley and Jeff. Together they supply the bulk of this driving
psychological thriller. Most scenes are set in Jeff’s apartment/
photo studio and consist of intense interaction between the two
principals. Director David Slade has the audience in the palm of
his hands by the first 20 minutes of the film, and then he begins
to apply pressure.
