Review: When things get too hot
on the street, racer Sean Boswell (Lucas Black) takes off for Tokyo
to live with an estranged relative. Getting caught up in the illegal
world of “drift racing,” he soon finds himself deeply
in debt and easy prey for underworld figures.
A weak sequel quite far removed from the original, “The Fast
and the Furious,” this offering from director Justin Lin has
plenty of flash action, but little substance. If you go for the
races and the wrecks, you'll be satisfied. If you're looking for
a plausible, interesting plot, keep driving.
